Rural Hospital Medicine 15 years Dunstan Hospital, considerable locums in Rural hospitals in NZ and Australia Fellow DRHMNZ.
On return to NZ in 1998, it was evident, certainly in Otago that GP Obstetric care was on the decline, and with a deficit of colleagues to support this service, we are now left with very few Doctors who are able to bear Obstetric Concern in New Zealand as a whole. Our skills combined can only gain our community, and I am very grateful to the Practice I labor with, and the Rural Hospital Doctors at Dunstan, who remain to provide emergency back up protection for the Community. Our midwife client relationship is based on a professional partnership and concern is tailored to confront all your needs correct through your pregnancy up until your baby is six weeks of age. While I am not providing advanced intrapartum care, I am supporting Charlotte Arden as a back up service for consultation, if Charlotte is called away as piece of my commitment to a fellow Rural practitioner.
Kate graduated in medicine from the University of Otago and did her specialist training in Obstetrics and gynecology. I completed a Diploma of Obstetrics and gynecology at the Otago University, while working at Wellington Hospital in 1995. I love working in this great Central Otago Community and the attractive landscape is a bonus! I also feel motivated because this is an area in which there is a definite degree of isolation and over the former scanty years since establishing Central Otago Midwives it has been a immense recreation active on overcoming these challenges. Whether this is in a smaller primary concern setting or in hospital environment.
By occupied together and when needed with the obstetric team, Charlotte and I can encourage your informed choices throughout your pregnancy, beginning and post natal experiences.
